In 2002, Il Gelato made history as Sri Lanka’s first authentic Italian gelateria, introducing the true art of gelato-making to the island. It all began with our father, an Italian visionary who poured his passion into crafting gelato the traditional way—fresh, natural, and indulgent. He brought a taste of Italy to Sri Lanka, creating a legacy built on quality, authenticity, and family tradition. Today, as his daughters, we proudly carry that legacy forward, ensuring Il Gelato remains a family-run business driven by love and craftsmanship.

Our fruit flavors are naturally vegan, our creamy flavors are made with fresh, local dairy, and every scoop is crafted with passion.
